3CATS have taken their courses online during COVID-19 and reached more people than ever.

“3CATS Accounts Training are a Grantham-based adult learning provider that offer training in bookkeeping and payroll with a twist. Founded by David Nelson in 2014, along with Kym Banks as tutor and administrator, 3CATS serves adults who are looking to learn new skills, with many learners who are unemployed or on low wages. Unlike most providers, 3CATS deliver training using the “workshop style,” where each student is treated as an individual and learns at their own pace, making learning more accessible.” Read more

Lincolnshire libraries to reopen

Fourteen libraries across Lincolnshire reopened on the 13th July – Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Horncastle, Lincoln Central, Long Sutton, Louth, Mablethorpe, Market Rasen, Skegness, Sleaford, Spalding, Stamford and Woodhall Spa. Local Authority Grants for businesses

Local small businesses can access up to £25,000 in funding during COVID-19 through three different Local Authority Grants. Those available are:

  • The Local Authority Discretionary Fund is available to accommodate small businesses previously outside the scope of the Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF) and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund (RHLGF)
  • A £10,000 Small Business Grant is available to support small businesses who already pay little or no business rates because of small business rate relief (SBBR)
  • A £25,000 Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant is available to businesses operating from smaller premises, with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000

Bounce Back Loan Scheme

Local businesses can loan up to £50,000 to rebuild their business after COVID-19.

“The government will guarantee 100% of the loan and there will no fees or interest to pay back for the first 12 months. Loan terms will be up to six years, with no repayments due during the first 12 months. The government will work with lenders to agree a low rate of interest for the remaining period of the loan, and the scheme will be delivered through a network of accredited lenders.” Read more

Update to the Job Retention Scheme

“A new Job Retention Bonus Scheme has been announced to help businesses keep furloughed workers on staff. Employers will receive a one-time bonus of £1,000 for every furloughed employee still with the company on 31st January 2021. Further details to be announced shortly.” Read more

Apply for the Covid-19 community fund scheme

Lincolnshire County Council has launched their Covid-19 Community Fund Scheme to offer support to local projects during the coronavirus pandemic. Each of the 70 county councillors can allocate £3,000 towards initiatives which benefit the community. Read more
