Since 2017, the Lincolnshire Open research and Innovation Centre has been supporting businesses to access the information that they need to grow and develop.

We have supported more than 160 business with their journeys to starting up, growing, developing, innovating and scaling up, so we wanted to share how we have done this with various business types and sectors.

LORIC Support for Online Retail

Over the course of various projects, LORIC has provided research and data analysis support to many online retailers, with products such as personalised gifts, beverages, corporate gifting and subscription boxes.

How have we helped?

  • Researching the current market for specific products and exploring future consumer trends
  • Conducting competitor analyses and comparing them with a businesses’ current product offer
  • Interpreting Google Analytics data
  • Analysis of in-house data
  • Exploring the value offer of the business to various audiences

Examples of projects undertaken:

  • Using Google Analytics data to analyse online traffic and sales data in order to answer key questions about the performance of different online platforms, including social media channels.
  • Desk-top research into the food subscription box market.
  • Using Google trends data to spot patterns in internet searching for personalised gifts.
  • Identifying markers for success and planning product launch timescales

If your online retail business could do with a boost, you may be eligible to receive FREE support via one of our UK Shared Prosperity Fund projects.
